September Winnings

Welcome back to your favorite, regularly scheduled blog about what I've won this month. I won a lot of earrings this month, so I need to stop entering earrings giveaways unless they're super cute.

1. @ladybulldogdm is a new boutique based here in Iowa, and I won a $15 Starbucks gift card! She has been repeating this giveaway weekly, so go give her a follow now!

2. @dylanrose_jewels and @worshipworthy gave away a cute snakeskin pouch and gold earrings. I love this style of earring that clips in the back because I hate statement earrings that poke your head right behind your ear.



3. @heuserandheuser_law on Instagram has a weekly Find It Friday. I won September 13th but they didn't respond right away so I'm expecting a surprise in the mail...

4. @shopmissmandarina on Instagram gave away a cute pair of clay earrings. I chose black so they would match almost everything.

5. @hazelry.handmade gave away a pair of tassel earrings and a cute engraved necklace. I wore the earrings to dinner yesterday and they are fantastic. 

6. @sparkiiz_makeup_counter had a little makeup/self-care giveaway with two winners and I won second place. I'm still waiting on this to arrive, but I do know it had candy included, and I am excited.

7. @valmarie_jewelry on Instagram gave away a $10 Etsy credit to her shop. The first person to comment below that they want this can have it! I have won a lot of earrings recently so I am passing these onto someone else (also shout out to @bonniemarion for letting me know about this giveaway!). I've checked out her site and with $10 you can get two pairs of earrings and only pay like $2-3 in shipping.

8. @custom.mats on Instagram gave away a Halloween-inspired doormat. I hope my roommate is okay with me putting a mat that says "What's up witches?" outside our door. This may have been my best win of the month.

9. WMG on Facebook gave away a $20 credit to her shop where she makes handmade wooden signs and customized gifts. I'm definitely going to get myself some fall decor, and she offers pick up in the Des Moines area, so I don't even have to pay for shipping.

10. @kokosshoppe on Instagram gave away earrings to three winners, and I am one of them. I just won this yesterday, so I don't know which pair I'm getting yet, but I will be sure to post a picture when I do.


I'm looking forward to October because I should be able to break $5,000 in winnings which is a HUGE milestone. When I started my account in March, I didn't even have $3,000 in winnings, but I have learned a lot since then and won a lot.

Imagining yourself winning a Thailand vacation? You're probably better off just buying your ticket.  So you're entering dozens and dozens of contests and never win anything. Sound familiar? If you're not realistic with your chances of winning, you're going to find yourself disappointed over and over again. Many Instagram and Facebook contests will have you comment and tag people in order to enter. This is a great way for you to see what your odds are. August Winnings

Ah yes, my monthly post where I share what I won over the past month. Personally, I had a lot going on. I moved into a new apartment, took a five day trip to San Antonio to watch my brother graduate Air Force basic training, and started my MBA, so I was not entering many contests this month. However,  I still had a few winnings. 1. If you've been following @stickermule you know that they recently wrapped up 100 days of giveaways. And in those 100 days, I won something! Some of their days had more than one winner, so I made sure to enter those. I won a free order of sheet labels (fancy stickers) worth $56. If you're following me on Instagram, you'll know that I actually gave these away (my first giveaway!). 2. @dermala had an Instagram contest with three winners. One of those winners must have not followed the rules or responded quickly enough because I was able to get a free package of their acne wipes worth $40. How I Won Nightly Concert Tickets

I'm excited that within days of starting this blog, I won another social media contest. Winning is not something you can count on, but you can increase your chances of winning something in a few different ways. One of which is entering contests with very few entries.  This contest was sponsored by Raygun, a Midwest shop known for their graphic tees. I own a shirt and have heard their owner speak on two different occasions which is why I followed them originally. I'm a big fan of their humor. That Nancy Pelosi clapping meme? They put it on a t-shirt .  So when they posted that they were giving away two tickets, I was ready. It didn't matter to me that I had never heard of the band because my parents LOVE concerts, and I knew I could give the tickets to them.  All you had to do was tag a friend in the comments.
